| Actually most people are mistaken on the definition of a fish. Alot of people believe it is somebody that plays poorly, or extremely loose with disregard of logic. That would actually be a donkey, or "donk". A fish is simply somebody who is at an extreme disadvantage at the level he is playing at. For instance a new player who does well at micro limits would make himself a fish at a $10/$20. The term is derived from the opposing player being referred to as a shark. So when the weaker player makes himself an easy target he is a "fish.
